Hon. Judges Honored For Outstanding Performance

Six\r\nJudges have been honoured for their distinguished services to the nation. The\r\nHon. Lady Justices were honoured by the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJU)\r\nin Uganda during a ceremony at Hotel African in Kampala on December 13,\r\n2014.  The Hon. Justices include: -

\r\n\r\n

1.    Former\r\nDeputy Chief Justice. Hon. Lady Justice Laeticia Kikonyogo

\r\n\r\n

2.    Retired\r\nHon. Lady Justice Mary Maitum.

\r\n\r\n

3.   Hon.\r\nLady Justice Stella Arach Amoko, JSC

\r\n\r\n

4.    Hon.\r\nLady Justice Margaret Oguli

\r\n\r\n

5.    Hon.\r\nLady Justice Henrietta Wolayo

\r\n\r\n

6.    Hon.  Justice David Batema

\r\n\r\n

The\r\nActing Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Steven Kavuma during the same ceremony in\r\nhis remarks commended NAWJU for recognizing its’ members and appealed to the\r\nentire Judiciary fraternity to emulate the same. Speaking during the ceremony,\r\nthe President of the Association, Hon. Lady Justice Esther Kisakye commended\r\nthe six Hon. Justices for excelling in their work in serving the country.

\r\n\r\n

Hon.\r\nLady Justice Kikonyogo commended the Government for empowering women and\r\nappealed to the Hon. Judges to tackle corruption and domestic violence for the\r\nbetterment of Uganda.

\r\n\r\n

At\r\nthe ceremony, the Association announced its’ plans to carry out a nationwide\r\ncampaign to sensitize students about human rights.
